The Highway toll of Santiago de Compostela-Orense represents a route of high capacity that constitutes the central axis of communications between Santiago and Orense, facilitating communications between the main centres of the various populations that the highway covers.
The links with the existing road network throughout the layout are nine: In Santiago de Compostela the stretch starts from the link with the AP-9 (Autopista del Atlantico), the N-525 road and Cacheiras connection that connects with the AG-59.

Continues its route towards Santa Cruz de Ribadulla, where the second exit is located. It follows towards the toll of Bandeira from where it accesses, again, the N-525. In the toll of Silleda one communicates with the accesses of the fairground (Recinto Ferial) and the urban centre. In the surroundings of Lalín three points of contact exist: The West (opposite the industrial estate 2000), Centre (with the current PO-534) and the East connection that connects with the N-525. The highway ends in Dozón connecting directly at Alto de Santo Domingo with the AG-53.
